Vermont man killed in single-vehicle crash in Mendon

MENDON, Vt. —

A Vermont man was killed on Wednesday morning following a crash in Mendon, according to police.

Vermont State Police said 42-year-old Christopher Black of West Rutland was driving south on Wheelerville Road just after 8 a.m. when he failed to maintain his lane and veered off the east side of the road, colliding with a tree.

Black was pronounced dead at the scene. He was the only occupant of the vehicle.

Police have not been able to determine if Black was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash.
