Search for missing teen in Cochise County

TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) - The Cochise County Sheriff’s Office needs the public’s help to find a missing teen.

The CCSO says it was notified last night, November 21, of a missing teen from the Pirtleville area outside of Douglas.

The caller stated that 16-year-old Monica Loza-Vega was last seen leaving her residence around 6:30 p.m. to go for a walk.

She has not returned.

The caller advised that Monica was wearing a black jacket, a green shirt, “Douglas Bulldog” shorts, and white tennis shoes when she left.

Monica is described as a Hispanic female,  4′9″ tall, approximately 90 pounds, with shoulder-length dark brown hair with highlights and brown eyes.

Monica does not have any electronic devices with her and no known assets such as cash.

Cochise County Search and Rescue was activated to assist in the search and a K9 tracker along with SAR personnel determined that Monica most likely got picked up by an unknown subject/vehicle after leaving her residence.

The CCSO says there is currently no indication of foul play.

The CCSO is asking for assistance to locate Monica and bring her home safely.

Monica has been entered into the National Crime Information Center as a Missing Person and we will continue this investigation pending locating her.
